Via an online Home Run Derby 2010 game, fans can up the chances of selection, which their chose charities certainly don’t mind. Ten total winners will be chosen, and one will win a trip for two to the 2010 World Series. The “Go to Bat” competition extends through the second half of the MLB season and ends on September 26.
More charitable gold at Home Run Derby 2010
Miguel Cabrera, Corey Hart, David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez and company will be swinging, and also the Boys and Girls Clubs of The US will catch the charity gold. State Farm launches $ 3,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America with each homer hit during Home Run Derby 2010, and an additional $ 17,000 for each “Gold Ball” hit – that’s a home with one out left to go. Not only that, but one of the local chapters of the Club will get $ 50,000 from State Farm, while the remaining seven chapters local to Orange County, Calif. will receive $ 10,000 apiece. But that’s not all – the fan-chosen charity with the most support gets $ 25,000 more from State Farm.
